Gangavaram Port has no connection with Satyam.
It was
clarified in our Press
Release dated Jan 16, 2009 that Lakeside Investments
Limited, Mauritius is a 100% owned and controlled investment
company of Warburg Pincus, a USA based international
private equity investor. Lakeside has shareholding in
Gangavaram Port Limited and has no connection with Lakeview
Investments Limited, allegedly a Mauritius based company
named in certain section of media in connection with
Satyam fiasco.
Recently,
Financial Services Commission (FSC), Mauritius has clarified
vide its Press Release dated Jan 17, 2009 that there
does not exist any company in Mauritius by the name
Lakeview Investments Limited. Excerpts from the said
Press Release-
"Following various media reports relating
to Satyam Computer Services Limited (an Indian company),
according to which the proceeds of alleged fraudulent
practices of the company have been “siphoned off” through
Lakeview Investments Mauritius (allegedly a Mauritian
company), the Financial Services Commission wishes to
state that the company mentioned in these reports is
not on the Commission’s register of licensees."
